The 15th Battalion Memorial Project was initiated two years ago by a team of retired Canadian soldiers who shared a common objective: to commemorate the actions of all those Canadians who served, especially those who gave their lives, in the 15th Battalion C.E.F. (48th Highlanders of Canada) during The Great War 1914-1918.

The project team has been working with historians, local communities and groups both in Canada and in Europe to recognize the part that the 15th Battalion played in Canada's contribution to the war effort on the battlefields of The Western Front.

The Project proposes to do this through a series of memorials placed in locations where the 15th Battalion won a number of the 21 Battle Honours it was awarded for actions during the Great War. To-date three memorials have been erected and dedicated: two in Belgium near Ypres on Gravenstafel Ridge and St Juien; and one in France at Hendecourt les Cagnicourt. The 15th Battalion Memorial Project relies entirely on donations to support its work. For more details on The Project or to make a tax deductible donation, refer to the "Contact Information" link on this website.

A portion from the sales of the book “We’ll Never Forget” will go directly to the 15th Battalion Memorial Project to support the funding of one of these 21 memorial sites located in Belgium or France.
